According to, a new league has been started with hopes of becoming a “minor league” for the NFL.

It’s never been a worse time to do this: prospects, who went undrafted for a reason, will be way, way too beat up to offer an NFL team any more than 2 years to play well. Football is a sport too violent to expect a minor league product to be healthy for long.

Adding to this is an Alphabet Soup of Leagues that tried to be an offseason alternative to the National Football league and folded. THe Fall Experimental Football League, XFL, and USFL from the ’80s are prime examples.

Enough is Enough. Let’s quit pretending the NFL needs a minor League.
