The hummingbirds of Texas need your help. Here is some ways to help the Hummingbirds. The following information was from a Facebook friend that resides in Texas

Our hearts go out to the community of Rockport and the devastation they are dealing with. The hummingbird festival is a major source of income. We are concerned that the community may lose the income after they rebuild. The hummers bulk up for their migration south and without the source of natural food as well as the nectar many of them will die.
We are trying to coordinate with other Wild Birds Unlimited stores. Kevin Pillow, from the Kerrville WBU store was able to contact Rhonda Cantu, the postmaster in Rockport, whose garage is still standing. Kevin Pillow took a load of sugar, water, poles and feeders there yesterday. Rhonda is distributing the items that Kevin took yesterday. He said there are thousands of hummingbirds there and the land has been scrubbed clean of any vegetation. There are no trees to hang the feeders from so poles are necessary.
Our store will be a drop off point for any donations (hummingbird feeders, poles, water etc.) We will try to caravan down next week. We will keep everyone posted as a plan comes together. If anyone has ideas please share them. Please contact Debra & George Eanes with Ideas, help.
