Call Me!

Don’t you hate it? You missed a phone call from a friend – a relative – a business client – your mother so you call them back within a 24 to 72 hour period. Everyone wins. Everyone is happy. Everyone can pat themselves on the back and rest easy.

What do you do when you call someone and they don’t return your phone call. What do you do?

Throw a tantrum!

Curse them out soundly!

Stomp up and down the stairs!

Shout and scream at your nearest and dearest?

I’ve tried all of them. It doesn’t work. You shouldn’t blame the people around you due to the behavior of the people you’re trying to contact. And, when and if they do return your phone call, then come the excuses. Let me see. Some of my favorites.

I called you yesterday – today – this morning – this afternoon. Funny, you never heard the phone – smart phone – tablet ring. You were right there in your office – room – bus- car waiting for that call.

I tried calling you, but the phone was busy. Really? It didn’t roll over and took voice mail – messages – a returned phone number?

I called, but you didn’t answer the phone. Yes, I heard the phone ringing, but I was on SKYPE handling a business client – taking my grandmother to the bathroom. The excuses are endless.

My question to you is, do you really want to do business with that client, do you really want to buy insurance or invest with that company, do you really believe everything they tell you? Seriously?

I’ve found that when a person does the above consistently those are the people I don’t want to do business with – pal around with – depend on them during an emergency.

The next time you call someone, and they don’t return your phone call within a reasonable amount of time, strike them off your list. They’re not going to pan out no matter how many excuses you and they provide for themselves.
